Master of Science in Integrative Biology
The Preisser lab in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology at Kennesaw State University is recruiting a student to pursue a Master of Science in Integrative Biology (MSIB) beginning in Fall 2023. Kennesaw State University is located about 30 miles northwest of Atlanta.
My research program investigates the spatial and temporal distributions of parasitic diseases, and I seek to understand how the environment, hosts, and anthropogenic disturbances shape these patterns.
Project Description
Georgia is a hotspot for freshwater fish diversity in the United States, yet we know little about the parasites infecting these species. KSU has over 2000 ethanol-preserved freshwater fish collected around the state between 1999 and 2016; over 115 species of fish are represented in this collection. The student will work with these fish to answer questions related to the distributions and drivers of parasitic diseases in Georgia.
General Information
Graduate students in the MSIB program are fully funded through a combination of teaching and research assistantships.

Application and Deadline
To apply, please send me 1) a cover letter explaining your research interests, your previous relevant experience (classes, research and/or work), why you want to pursue a graduate degree, and any additional information you’d like to provide; 2) your CV; and 3) contact information for two references.
Please email all materials to me by December 1, 2022. I will conduct interviews in the beginning of December, and the selected student will apply for priority admission to the MSIB program by January 15, 2023.
